INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB) by the Department of Primary Education

The Directorate of Primary Education of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has invited bids for supply, installation and testing of Laptops-3930 units (Lot 1= 1175 units, Lot 2 = 1346 units & Lot 3 = 1409 units), under package No. GD 308.01, for Government Primary Schools. The bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) producers specified in the World Bank's guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits January 2011 (revised July 2014), and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines.
Key qualifications requirements include:
a) Financial capability: Minimum amount of liquid asset or working capital or credit facility is 50% of the total bid price of each lot;
b) Experience: Shall have been in existence for not less than 5 (five) years with experience of supply contracts for Government department or any reputed national or international organization for at least 3 (three) years;
c) Technical capacity: (i) if the bidder is the manufacturer, the minimum annual production capicity shall be at least 100% in quantity of Laptops of the proposed contract. (ii) If the bidder is supplier, it shall demonstrate satisfactory completion of supply of Laptops or similar ICT products (i.e. Desktop, Notebook, Tablet) of minimum 50% of the offered quantity or price of this particular goods under a single contract within last 5 (five) years counting backward from the date of publication of IFB; 
d) After sales services: The The bidder/supplier should have offices or service agents (distributors/dealers/resellers, if any) preferably in each administrative division of Bangladesh having capability and resources to meet warranty claims and after sales services at district levels.  
A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of BDT 3,000/- or USD 40/- through pay order in favour of "Director General, DPE & Program Director, PEDP-III" from any scheduled bank in Bangladesh or in Bidders country acceptable to the purchaser. Deadline for submission of the bids is 30 June 2015, 2.00pm, Bangladesh Standard time (GMT +6hrs). Electronic bids will not be permitted, late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the same place of bid submission 15 minutes after the deadline. Bids must be delivered to the address below:

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security amounting to US Dollars 20,000/- bor Lot-1; USD 25,000/- for Lot-2 and USD 30,000/- for Lot-3 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency.

Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) invites International Tender for "Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project":

The Government of Bangladesh intends to implement an 'In Orbit Delivery of a Geosynchronous Satellite System' with transponders, 26 Ku-band and 14 C-band, and all associated ground subsystems to provide communications and broadcasting services to Bangladesh and the surrounding region, with anticipated launch in late 2017. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is responsible for implementing this project under 'Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project' on behalf of the Government. The last date of the submission of the tender has been extended up to 18 June 2015.
