Please note that this form is as same as the application form for new MRP passport. In case of Reissue, applicants are required to check "Reissue" box on the first page of the application form. 


Details of the Guideline for Reissue (previously known as renewal) of Machine Readable Passport (MRP): 

Reissue Applicants may send their application through Canada Post, but if the applicant is less than 20 years of old in that case they needs to come to the High Commission in person for their updated Biomatrix whether it is New and or Renewal/Reissue of MRP.  

1. Applicant's recent 2(two) passport size color photograph.

2. Existing Bangladesh Passport along with 2 (two) sets photocopy of the passport.

3. Photocopy of applicant's National ID Card and or Digital Birth Certificate(if available). If not, applicant may apply for Digital Birth Certificate when they apply for MRP. 

4. Self addressed Canada Post Express prepaid envelope (with online tracking facilities).

5. Necessary fees of 150.00 CAD through bank draft or pay order. In case of applications submitted in Bangladesh High Commission Office in Ottawa, applicants may pay through debit or credit card upfront.

6. In the application form SL. 22.  That person should be applicant's family members/relatives/friends who live in Bangladesh. Please mention his/her relationship with the applicant and his/her phone number and address which is mandatory.

If the applicant is minor or aged below 20 years, s/he is required to come in person to the High Commission for giving recent digital photograph, biomatric data and signature.

The following documents are required to be submitted :

  • Duly filled-in the prescribed form (downloaded from our website as given at the start of this page. Photocopies are also accepted. All sections of the form must be filled with correct and appropriate information.
  • Existing passport and a photocopy thereof.
  • 1 (one) recent passport size coloured photograph. Background of the photo needs to be white and photo should show your face clearly. It is better not to wear spectacles during taking the photo. For female applicants, face must not be covered in any form. 
  • During filling-up the form, please type or write by hand in block-letters; illegibility may cause delay or even nullify the process.
  • Please attach bank draft or postal money order with appropriate fees /charges. For details on the fees, please see the relevant section in this website. Please note that we do not accept any personal cheque/debit/credit card.
  • All fees should be payable to “BANGLADESH HIGH COMMISSION, OTTAWA”.
  • If you are sending your application by mail, please use the guaranteed or registered or express mail from Canada Post. Ordinary mail sometimes gets lost or causes unexpected delay. Please also enclose a self-addressed return envelope with sufficient postal stamps for return of applicant's passport by registered or guaranteed or express post.
  • For Bangladeshi Government officials living in Canada on leave, relevant G.O. from concerned Ministry has to be submitted for any consular service.
  • We do not accept application by Courier (i.e. FedEx, DHL, UPS etc.).
  • Please sign the application with mention of place and date.

Please note: Incomplete form will not be processed and the High Commission will not be held responsible for such applications.
